Defined by its high chromium (25%), nickel (7%) and molybdenum (4%) content, alloy 2507 is a super duplex stainless steel developed to perform in corrosive conditions. This composition provides superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking, providing reliable operation in environments such as offshore oil production and chemical processing. With strength two to three times greater than standard austenitic grades like 316L, alloy 2507 Super Duplex provides a cost-effective and lightweight alternative for demanding applications.
The strength and durability of 2507 Super Duplex stainless steel set it apart from other alloys. Its duplex microstructure combines the best features of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, resulting in a material that withstands extreme conditions.
Using Duplex 2507 can lead to significant cost savings. Its high strength (up to 125 ksi/862 mpa) often allows for thinner sections compared to other materials, reducing overall weight and material costs. Its versatility across various industries makes it a valuable asset for many applications.
