What is Zeron® 100?

Zeron® 100 is a super duplex stainless steel known for its exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. Its chemical composition includes approximately 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 3.6% molybdenum, along with additions of copper and tungsten. This balanced combination of elements adds to its superior performance in extreme environments.

What makes Zeron® 100 unique?

Zeron® 100 uniqueness originates from its dual-phase microstructure, consisting of equal parts austenite and ferrite. This structure provides a unique blend of mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, making it more robust than standard austenitic stainless steels. The alloy’s high pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) of 40 ensures excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, particularly in chloride-rich and sour environments.
